IS IT WINTER?
Today is another cold day--one of the few that we have that stays cloudy all day! It looks like snow in the surrounding mountains.
An UPDATE on Derby. Yesterday he finally decided he would drink some of the foal milk replacer, and by this morning eagerly awaiting his bucket of milk! He has now had his lunch bucket too! He isn't looking for mom as much now.
Today I am thankful for.....Derby starting to drink his milk
Sweatshirts
radio on my computer while I work
cell phones
muck boots (aka snow boots if you aren't on a farm)
brown clay
Coyote glazes
my kids
Timberline church online
Pandora radio on my phone
Now I am off to work in the studio - have a bunch of ideas to work on for my holiday line. In addition to my mug a day I will post pictures tomorrow of other pots I make.
Have a blessed Sunday!

WHY
WHY has this past week been so hectic??? Maybe I have been focusing on the wrong things!!! Between losing my mare and having a 2 month old orphan colt, my days and nights have been very busy. Baby still doesn't want to drink or eat the FOLAC for orphans (I have tried both the pellets and powder) But he will eat hay and drink water. Here is
Derby's story . . . .
Where did Mama go???
AND then SNOW--October 6 and a baby has to endure snow and no Mama to keep him warm!!!
Finally - when a boy just needs someone you bring me a strange mare who doesn't have any interest in me and...yes, a boy meets DAD!
Well my humans decided that a loafing shed wasn't enough for me without a mama so they worked hard last night and I now have a barn that was formerly a tack room. Hmm wonder if those saddles hanging on the wall are for me to eat???
After such a fun experience with Derby and finally off to bed after many hours in the wet snow transforming a tack room into a barn for derby--which he loves and is oh so warm I wake up to a horse running up and down outside my bedroom window. But oh no, I go out and its now a horse but a big black mule named Maggie. Of course the only animal on my place that is not halter broke!!! After many hours of trying to coax her back into the pasture after repairing the fence I gave up and left her out to much on the hay stack and went back to bed.
This morning here's Maggie checking out our stud Amigo and showing off that she is free to play while he can't come out.
And then to make things all run smooth for a while,
And after the past 48 hours, i remember
Psalm 148:1 "Praise Ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights."

The verse I found peace in today is Philippians 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."

HUMP DAY
Today is the middle of the week - when working a Monday-Friday job it was always fun to know the week was half way over. Now that I have reached retirement that wonderful HUMP day is just a reminder that time flies faster the older you get!
I am Thankful for...the bees that pollinate our plants
smiling faces
fans
clouds
running water
my camera
my childhood memories
KFC
my sewing machine
Christian radio
God's Word spoke to me today and the verses that stand out are Matthew 6:1-4 "Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have the glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly."
Blessings to all

TODAY I am thankful for...
Today I remember a favorite verse, Psalm 136:1 "Oh, give thanks to the Lord for He is good! For His mercies endures forever." I need to remember to be thankful and give praise to Him not only when life seems to be perfect but also when I meet those darn obstacles.
I am thankful today
for being free to worship God
for a beautiful sunrise
that I am able to visit my daughter Melissa
my car starts
my Mother is 89 and still has a good quality of life
I have socks to wear
the warm sunshine
breakfast ( I do love to eat!)
for "Derby"
my Bible (it was first my Dad's)
The list could go on for ever. There is so much we take for granted that people in 3rd world countries can't ever imagine to have.

TODAY
TODAY I am reflecting on my past and where my path will now lead. I just have to remember I can't drive alone but have to follow my navigator's (GOD) instructions. My blog has gone rather dormant and needs some direction. I get started and then procrastinate (something I seem to do well).
In my blog I want to put God first and share what he has done not only for me but for everyone. I also want to share other things I am passionate about: my family, my pottery and other art or craft that I do, my animals, recipes, etc.
So here goes on a new format of posts for me.
